Battleship Cove is a living history museum. Think of it as a huge movie set, telling the stories of real people and bringing history to life.

On one stage is the star of the show, the USS Massachusetts, the mighty World War II battleship whose crewmembers were part of our nation’s greatest generation. Sharing the stage with Big Mamie is the seasonal Pearl Harbor Experience. This immersive educational experience uses special effects in the water, sound effects of the attack, and film on a large billboard in the only outdoor multimedia reenactment in any historic museum site.

Co-starring with Big Mamie is the USS Joseph P. Kennedy, Jr., named for the oldest son of the fabled Kennedy family who died tragically on a secret Allied bombing mission. Other major characters include two PT Boats similar to the one commanded by the future President Kennedy, the submarine Lionfish, andthe Russian-built missile corvette Hiddensee.

The supporting players round out a stunning cast of ships, exhibits, military artifacts and memorials dedicated to preserving and honoring the sacrifices of veterans from WWII through the Persian Gulf Wars. You must see it to believe it!
