The Cohasset Historical Society founded in 1928, owns and operates three historic buildings, all listed on the National Register of Historic Places. In 2003, the Society moved its headquarters to the 1903 Pratt Building, which houses the Society's archives and library, along with a fine collection of historic paintings and an extensive costume and textile collection. Temporary changing exhibits and various programs and monthly lectures are featured here year-round.

Cohasset Maritime Museum

Originally built ca. 1760 as a ship chandlery, the Cohasset Maritime Museum today houses the Cohasset Historical Society's collection of maritime artifacts and serves as a permanent memorial to Cohasset's seafaring history.

Open mid-June through Labor Day, Wednesday to Friday 1:00-4:00 and Saturday 1:00-3:00. Suggested donation: $5.00

Captain John Wilson House Museum
4 Elm Street in Cohasset Village


The Captain John Wilson house, built in 1810, was given to the Cohasset Historical Society in 1936. Having served through the years as a commercial and apartment building, the house has been restored and is now a historic house museum depicting a Cohasset home in the early 19th century.

Open mid-June through Labor Day, Wednesday to Friday 1:00-4:00 and Saturday 1:00-3:00. Suggested donation: $5.00
