Cranberry Bogs at Edaville Railroad, Carver, MA
There are more than 458 growers and more than 12,000 acres of producing cranberry bogs in the state. In South Carver, ride through an 1800-acre cranberry plantation on Edaville Railroad's turn-of-the-century narrow gauge railway. Edaville Railroad is also home to the Cranberry Harvest Festival and the Christmas Light Festival. But the area is known for more than just cranberries. John Kendrick House and the Maritime Museum which trace the town's historic past. In Middleboro, make a stop at the Middleboro Historical Museum and see the Exhibit of the famous little people, General and Mrs. Tom Thumb, of the P.T. Barnum Circus. When you get to Mattapoisett, visit the Mattapoisett Historical Society, the Mattapoisett Museum and Carriage House and Ned's Point Lighthouse.
