45th Annual Juried Art Show

Plymouth Center for the Arts
11 North Street
Plymouth, MA
Phone: 508-746-7222

Friday, September 21, 2012 (All day) to Sunday, October 28, 2012 (All day)

Opens on Friday, Sept. 21 with a Gala and Awards Ceremony from 7:30pm-10:30pm and remains open through Sunday, Oct. 28. The show now draws artists from far beyond our New England borders. As in the past, an anticipated 700 entries will be judged, with only 250 pieces of art chosen to be on exhibit for the five week extravaganza. Artists exhibit work in several mediums: Drawing and Pastel, Oil, Acrylic, Watercolor and Casein Painting, Sculpture, Black & White and Color Photography, Mixed Media, Fine Crafts, Printmaking and Digital Art. $3,000 in prize money will be awarded during the Opening Gala.

Every expression of art will be represented in this year's Annual Show: Visual, Word, Music and Dance. Even the public is invited to try their hand at art during the Art Stroll as the folks at the Center invite the community to paint on the 20 foot, canvas Art Wall. To attract young artists, three new events have been added to this year's show: "Young at Art" - a week long show for artists ages 6-18 under the big tent in the garden, "Painting with Pixels" - a digital painting demonstration by character designer Nicholas Kole and "Paint Me a Poem, Write Me a Picture" - teenage poetic interpretations of art on exhibit by selected Plymouth High School students.
