SHARING THE FIRE 2017 - Northeast Storytelling Conference!

Hotel 1620 Plymouth Harbor
180 Water Street
Plymouth, MA 02360

Friday, March 24, 2017 to Sunday, March 26, 2017

Some of the finest storytellers in the nation will come together in Plymouth, MA for the 36th annual Sharing the Fire (STF), Northeast Storytelling Conference.  Since its modest start at Lesley College over 3 decades ago, STF has become the place for New England and New York storytellers to sharpen their skills and exchange ideas.  Professional tellers and novice tellers alike will find plenty to choose from.  The lineup includes over two dozen workshops, performances, slams, swaps and fringes.  This year there will even be a strand called Stories Galore for people who love to listen to stories but don’t necessarily want to become a storyteller.

Much of the conference will focus on the theme, “Voices Across Borders: Making Connections.”  Conference chair Jo Radner observes that, “barriers, real or imagined, separate us by nationality, culture, race, age, sex, ability, language, finances, and more. The conference will explore the many ways stories can reach across borders, help people listen to others, and make powerful changes possible.”
