Watercolor Without Bounds a 2-day workshop with Kristina Carroll
Saturday 10:00am-4pm & Sunday 10:00am-3:00pm, Aug 12 & 13, 2017

Watercolor is often considered one of the hardest mediums to master because of its delicate nature and unforgiving mark making on paper. But what if it was a constant, active participant in your vision- fluidly shifting with your whims? In this class we will explore modern media and new techniques to use with watercolor, making it a vehicle of intuition and play. We will experiment on a variety of surfaces, using materials like absorbent ground, gold leaf and 3-D elements to translate personal visions into unique art objects. While any subject matter will be welcome from landscapes to figurative to abstract, we will be presenting some techniques for creating more personal, symbolic narrative in our work. Bring a variety of reference photos that inspire you (and/or a laptop or tablet for image research) and come ready to push outside your comfort zone.
