Celebration begins with the presentation of colors by the police and fire departments, the singing of the National Anthem and the Pledge of Allegiance. There will be a public reading of the Declaration of Independence by 29 residents. After the reading there will be a children's parade of decorated bikes and doll carriages. All children are invited to participate. The mornings celbration will end with a patriotic sing-along.

Mashpee Wampanoag Chairman Glenn Marshall will be the guest speaker at Breakfast on the Road at LeBaron Hills Country Club, beginning at 7:30am. Coffee and pastry will be served. This year marks 150 years since the irth of the "Copper King" and 100 years after the wreck of his beloved seven-mastede schooner the "TW Lawson." The weekend celebration will include dinner at the Barker Tavern from 6:30 to 10pm, with guest speaker Sandy McCall, Lawson's great grandson.
