Day Long Event
Ceramic artist Chris Gustin, is providing a unique opportunity to be present at the opening of his wood kiln. The event, open to the public, is at his home and studio in South Dartmouth, MA. Several potters from across the nation are participating in this firing, including Don Reitz and Gustin whose work may be seen in Fuller Craft Museum's exhibition,
Ceramic Sculpture: Fire and Ash.
This kiln takes three days to load, six days to fire, and a week to cool and unload. A typical firing cycle will be two weeks in length. The process requires five to six cords of wood. They only fire the kiln twice a year, in mid fall and late spring making this a very unique, educational opportunity. All of the work coming out of the kiln will be available for purchase with 20% of the proceeds being donated back to Fuller Craft Museum.

Mayflower Society House
Noon-4pm Friday-Sunday
The Mayflower House, owned by the General Society of Mayflower Descendants, is a handsome 18th century mansion overlooking Plymouth Harbor. It reflects two epochs in Massachusetts history: the colonial period culminating with the Revolutionary War, as well as the summer life of the late 19th century when New England coastal towns attracted affluent summer residents. The Mayflower House was built in 1754 by Edward Winslow, descendant of Pilgrim Edward Winslow, third Governor of Plymouth Colony. Tours are one hour and include the formal gardens, and nine rooms with authentic furnishings of the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries.
