Wrought by My Hand Exhibit
This popular is guest-curated by Julianne Mehegan, and the display features twenty-five beautifully crafted embroideries and samplers from the Society’s collection. These remarkable examples of schoolgirl craftwork offer a glimpse into the lives of early American schoolgirls, and the social and artistic expectations citizens of the young American Republic held for their women they would become. The Old Ordinary is open for tours at 1:30, 2:30, and 3:30 Tuesdays-Saturdays, and by appointment for group tours.

This show features the work of 32 contemporary woodworkers who have constructed conceptual and functional pieces that express their unique artistic visions and blur the boundaries of art and craft. Tours are at 1:30, 2:30, and 3:30 Saturdays and Sundays throughout September.
This museum was once a way station, where weary travelers or residents of Hingham could get a meal, a drink and conversation with Daniel Webster and Benjamin Lincoln, a Revolutionary War general who fought with George Washington. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children.

In order for the famed, historic ship to weather evenly, Mayflower II is turned a couple times a year, to ensure the ship is exposed to the elements on both sides. A limited number of dockside visitors will be invited to assist in the process of turning the ship, by holding ropes and helping to tow lines. Interested participants should be at the State Pier by 5pm.

Plymouth's Quadricentennial Logo to be Unveiled

Held onboard the Mayflower II on Water Street in Plymouth and flanked by members of the Plymouth Public Schools’class of 2020, Senate President Therese Murray will give the keynote address at the unveiling, which is open to the public and to be attended by local VIPs including town, regional and state officials. The commemorative logo will be branded and merchandised to promote the town’s special anniversary over the next decade, beginning with 400 limited edition long sleeved T-shirts to go on sale immediately after the unveiling. The ceremony will be followed by a reception in the Mayflower II exhibit area.

Japanese Tea Ceremony

Held in the tea hut situated in a Japanese garden on the museum grounds. Shofuan, the "Wind in The Pines Hut" was built in Kyoto Japan in 1969 and reassembled here in 1975. Shofuan is a traditional san jo daime (3 & 3/4 size) hut. Japanese huts are described by the numer of mats they accommodate.
