From WWII Battleships to Newport Mansions

Heading south off Cape Cod you will encounter some of the most interesting attractions found in New England.

Your next sojourn lies at Fall River’s Battleship Cove and, whether you're a die-hard naval history buff or a casual enthusiast, the hands-on activities on their many vessels offer much to discover!

Finally, from the rough and tumble times of World War II meander south on Route 24 to Newport, Rhode Island. In Newport, the leading architects of the 19th and early 20th Centuries built magnificent villas and mansions for America’s social and financial elite.

These “summer cottages” provided the backdrop for a society centered on sport, fashion and parties in settings of spectacular natural beauty. Many today are National Historic Landmarks maintained by The Preservation Society of Newport County, and open for public tours. A visit to Newport is never complete without a visit to the Newport Mansions.
