Talking Information Center (TIC), the non-profit reading service broadcasting 24-hours a day to thousands of visually impaired and otherwise print impaired listeners throughout the state, brings a behind the scenes look at radio theater production as they present, “Rebecca.” The show will be performed at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 27 before a live audience at the Talking Information Center studios, 130 Enterprise Drive, Marshfield, and will also be broadcast live over the radio airwaves.

The Militia are Coming: Liberty Pole Day at Alden House

Step back in time to experience the life of a soldier during the American revolution during a military reenactment and living history day on the grounds of Alden House Historic Site. Re-enactors from Colonel Bailey’s 2nd Massachusetts Regiment, Yarmouth Minutemen, and Old Colony Militia will present a day of military drills, tactical demonstrations, craft programs, and children’s activities. There will be a reenactment of Duxbury’s 1775 “Council of War” along with living history demonstrations in blacksmithing, coopering and a liberty tea reenactment.

Japenese Tea Ceremony

Tea Ceremony Presentations are given at 2pm in the tea hut situated in a Japanese garden on the museum grounds. Admission is free. The 2019 tea ceremonies are scheduled on three Sundays: June 30, July 28 and September 29.

The Art Complex Tea Hut, Shofuan,"Wind in The Pines Hut" was designed by Kojiro Tomita's long time friend Gofu Sano and built in Kyoto Japan in 1969. It was reassembled here in 1975 and dedicated to the Tomitas at an inaugural tea ceremony.
