Day Trip to the Outer Cape with a Picnic

Though the secret has been out for a few years, Cape Cod is resplendent in fall and well into November. Our trip will pay visits to the gregarious chickadees of the Beech Forest at Cape Cod National Seashore, the massive consortium of Fiddler Crabs at Mass Audubon’s Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary, a search for whales off of the Province Lands, and many places in between. We will stretch our legs on a few short walks and picnic (provided) at one of the Cape’s most iconic views.

Over four decades the contributions of John Sebastian have become a permanent part of our American musical fabric. His group The Lovin’ Spoonful played a major role in the mid-’60s rock revolution, but what leader, singer and songwriter Sebastian had in mind was actually a counter-revolution. “We were grateful to the Beatles for reminding us our rock & roll roots,” John explains, “but we wanted to cut out the English middlemen, so to speak, and get down to making this new music as an 'American’ band.”
