Saturday, July 21, 2018 to Sunday, July 22, 2018

Nostalgia Weekend is a two-day series of free, family-friendly activities that harken back to a simpler time. Throughout the weekend, children and guests can try their hand at nostalgia-inspired “low-tech” games such as jump rope, hula hoop, bean bag toss and a special “mega-sized” tic tac toe. Junior artists can also unleash their creativity with sidewalk chalk.

On Saturday from 11am-3pm, the Greater Boston Vintage Society will be on hand for their annual “1920’s Day at the Beach” outing. Donning vintage bathing togs, seersucker and linen, the group will picnic and promenade on the Paragon Carousel lawn. Visitors are encouraged to speak with the participants as part of this "living history" exhibit.

On Saturday and Sunday, the 1897 Diamond Jubilee Gavioli Fairground Organ will play Wurlitzer carousel music selections; while owner and Wayland, MA native, Roger Weigand, will be available to talk about the background and restoration effort. Purchased in 2007, the 89-key Gaviolo Organ was restored in pieces in England then exported and reconstructed in the United States.
