Quill & Ink Vacation Week Program

Chiltonville Congregational Church
6 River Street
Plymouth , MA

Thursday, February 20, 2020 - 10:00am to 12:00pm

Communication technology is constantly changing today, but for over a thousand years people shared their thoughts and ideas by writing with a bird feather or quill pen and ink made from plants and minerals. Connect with the past during this two-hour, hands-on workshop on the Thursday of February school vacation week. Participants will learn to make quill pens and iron-based inks from traditional recipes and practice writing with these materials.

This program introduces young history explorers to the Junior Plymouth Antiquarian Society. Our mission is to inspire the next generation of Plymouth citizens to have an awareness of and pride in Plymouth's history and to prepare them for future civic engagement in Plymouth.
Open to all children ages 8 to 12. Materials Fee: $5 per child
