Thursday, February 22, 2018 - 10:00am to 4:00pm

10:00 am - 3:00 pm
Studio A: Join Artist-in-Residence Rose Clancy in a hands-on workshop creating the sculptural installation "Dangerous Objects Made Safe." All ages, younger children may need adult support.

10:00 am - 3:00 pm
Studio B: Create your own "dangerous" object made safe by learning to wrap wet felt around small pieces of hardware such as screws. Turn your creation into a pendant and wear it home! All ages; younger children may need adult support.

10:30 am - 12:00 pm
Join Wee the People for a kid-powered workshop celebrating black history, black identity, and unapologetic black JOY: Wee Wear the Crowns! Kids will explore the life of Jean-Michel Basquiat, the world-famous artist whose paintings crowned Black American heroes as kings--musicians, athletes, writers, and revolutionaries. Kids will then dive into their own art-making with Identity Crowns, a collage activity for all ages designed to elevate identity, culture, and kids' hopes for change in the world. All ages.

12:00 - 4:00 pm | Self-guided activities include a storybook corner for Black History Month.

10:00 am - 4:00 pm | "The Color of Us" Choose and mix colors to match the color of your skin, trace your hand and add it to others on the wall.

Join us again on the next [SENSE]ation Day on April 19, 2018 when we unwrap and reveal the results.
