Flax Pond Cranberry Co. is a 100-acre family farm, owned and operated by Jack and Dorothy Angley. The property, which was purchased in 1967, consists of 34 acres of producing cranberry bogs, a 10-acre pond, 40 acres of woodland (including 4,000 Fraser Fir Christmas trees), and 20 acres of reservoir. The cranberry bogs have been in production since the early 1890s and today produce 150 to 200 barrels per acre (in a good year) of fresh fruit for Ocean Spray Cranberries. The Militia are Coming: Liberty Pole Day at Alden House

Saturday, June 29, 2019 - 11:00am to 4:00pm

Step back in time to experience the life of a soldier during the American revolution during a military reenactment and living history day on the grounds of Alden House Historic Site. Re-enactors from Colonel Bailey’s 2nd Massachusetts Regiment, Yarmouth Minutemen, and Old Colony Militia will present a day of military drills, tactical demonstrations, craft programs, and children’s activities. There will be a reenactment of Duxbury’s 1775 “Council of War” along with living history demonstrations in blacksmithing, coopering and a liberty tea reenactment. Since 1989, the Highland Street Foundation has contributed more than $170 million to hundreds of non-profit organizations. The “Free Fun Fridays” program was created to offer visitors no-cost admission to well-known cultural venues in Massachusetts, as well as, to increase access and enrichment opportunities for children and families throughout the state during the summer months.
