You can view actual 17th century Pilgrim possessions, including William Bradford’s Bible, Peregrine White’s cradle and Myles Standish’s sword. Plimoth Plantation

Located three miles south of Plymouth Center, Plimoth Plantation is a living history museum dedicated to telling the history of Plymouth Colony from the perspective of both the Pilgrims and the Native Wampanoag people. The museum is a Smithsonian Institution Affiliate that includes the Wampanoag Homesite, 17th-Century English Village, Craft Center, Plimoth Bread Company, Plimoth Grist Mill and Mayflower II (under repair-due back in 2020), a full-scale reproduction of the original ship that sailed to Plymouth in 1620. The Plantation Visitor Center offers an indoor gallery exhibit, Cinema, and the Patuxet Café, serving delicious New England fare. Heritage Museums and Gardens is located in one of Plymouth County's beautiful neighboring towns - Sandwich, Massachusetts. The museum is comprised of three galleries featuring American Folk Art, antique automobiles, and seasonal traveling exhibitions.  Their expansive gardens  feature a collection of thousands of rhododendrons, including a collection of the world-renowned Dexter variety. Their typical bloom time is Memorial Day Weekend through mid-June. Other horticultural areas of interest include: holly, daylily, herb, hosta, and heather gardens, as well as more than a thousand varieties of trees, shrubs and flowers.
